Md. Razin Saleh Alam
Md. Razin Saleh Alam is a Teaching Assistant at the Center for Sustainable Development, ULAB. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts degree from ULAB in English and Humanities. He previously served as a Peer Mentor at the ULAB Student Affairs Office, guiding and supporting students in their academic journeys for more than a year. In addition, Razin is a proficient graphic designer with more than three years of diverse experience, using his creative skills to communicate ideas visually and effectively. He works part-time as a translator and transcriptionist for research projects. Moreover, he has been actively involved in a diverse range of extracurricular activities. His research interests lie in the areas of circular economy, renewable energy, and sustainable livelihood. He is passionate about exploring innovative approaches to achieve sustainable development, focusing on creating systems that promote resource efficiency, harness renewable energy sources, and foster sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Sanzida Alam
Ms. Sanzida Alam is a Teaching Assistant at the Center for Sustainable Development, ULAB. She is currently doing her Bachelor of Arts degree from ULAB in English and Humanities with a minor in Sustainable Development Studies (SDS) at the same university. She is currently the president of the ULAB Sustainable Development Club and the Sub-Editor at MUSE, the official DEH student magazine. Ms. Sanzida also works as an English Instructor at Engish Champ and as a translator and transcriptionist for research projects. She previously worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of English and Humanities at ULAB. She was also the Peer Mentor at the ULAB Student Affairs Office, ULAB guiding and supporting students in their academic journeys for more than a year.
Ms. Sanzida possesses strong leadership qualities. She has served as a team lead on multiple projects, effectively coordinating efforts, fostering collaboration, and motivating her teammates to achieve their goals. She has engaged in several workshops, seminars, and projects that allowed her to work in dynamic environments and collaborate with professionals from different disciplines. Her research interest lies in the areas of English as a Second Language (ESL), contextualization in English Language Teaching (ELT), designing English Language Teaching (ELT) materials, insertion of local culture in language, literary sociability, sustainability, and development.
Md. Mashiur Rahaman
Md. Mashiur Rahaman is a Research Assistant at the Center for Sustainable Development, ULAB. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from ULAB in English and Humanities, and currently, he is a graduate student of Creative Writing at the same university. His interests in research span from humanities to social sciences. He is specifically interested in digital humanities, translation studies, literary history, cultural studies, political economy, and sustainability and development. He aspires to conduct research to make humans lives, which are heavily disrupted by extreme socio-economic disparities and digital technologies, easier and just.
An aspiring researcher looking to contribute to the development sector with groundbreaking research. Current areas of interest are gender studies, resettlement issues, minority rights, autism, public health, public policy, and administration.
My journey from a student of English and Humanities towards Development Studies is a transformative one, all those analyses, and interpretations of societal systems and human actions through literature have inspired and lead me to work for the humanitarian cause. Aside from these core areas, also have a fascination for conversation analysis and psychoanalysis.
Jannat Shancharika Shuchi is a student of the Department of English and Humanities (DEH) at ULAB. She is now in her last semester and she is doing an internship at the Center for Sustainable Development, ULAB. She is also doing a Minor in Sustainable Development (SD). Besides her academic curriculums, she always keeps involved with multiple co-curricular activities. She has been also a member of the ULAB Sustainable Development club, ULAB Model United Nations, ULAB Social Welfare Club, and the 1971 History Club. She also was one of the runners-up of the DEH Inter-Batch Curricular Contest, ENG LIT MEET, 2019. She also participated in ULAB Model United Nations Conference, 2019. As an active member of ULAB Social Welfare Club, she hosted different programs such as the Breast Cancer Awareness Program, Youth Engagement in Climate Change and Disaster Management, Covid 19 pandemic situation and its threat to the Diabetic Patients and the solutions, Eve teasing problem in our society and its solution and so on. Again, she was the former Marketing Leader of the World Academy for the Future of Women (WAFA) and participated in many events related to Gender Inequality and the welfare of women in society. She completed her S.S.C (Science) and H.S.C (Science) from Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) and was actively involved with different co-curricular activities there. She was one of the dedicated members of the VNSC Debating club and VNSC Science Club and also participated in many cultural events in her school and college life.
Jannat is passionate about making her future goal with the SDGs and actively works moreover that. She writes articles and stories which have already been published in different newspapers. She also writes articles regarding SDGs. She has the motto of working in International Non-government Organizations (NGOs) in the long run and doing something for human and social welfare.
Maria Rahman Meem is an intern at Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). She has completed her undergraduate program at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) under the Department of English and Humanities (DEH). She took Sustainable Development as her Minor Studies under the Department of General Education (GED). Maria completed her Internship program at Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) in the Fall 2020. During her internship program, Maria made some valuable contributions on projects for “Solar C”, Manusher Jonno Foundation, and Heidelberg University. She has translated the data of those projects also. She used to teach students in a Coaching Center. She is currently working as a translator on an online website. Although she is working in different places, she wants to work for SDGs in the future.
Rafia Islam is a Research Assistant at Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). Recently she has worked in a project of Manusher Jonno Foundation (Fishing Community), Heidelberg University (Left behind Residents of Bhola) and EUlandrights project.She completed her undergraduate at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) under the Department of School of Business. Her concentration area in study was Human Resource Management and she completed her minor in Sustainable Development Studies (SDS) under the department of General Education (GED). She has done some online courses on “Coursera” from different international Universities. Some of them are Driving Business towards the SDGs from Erasmus University Rotterdam, HRM Specialization from University of Minnesota (US),Excel Skills for Business Specialization from Macquarie University, Business English Communication Skills Specialization from University of Washington etc.
Rafia also worked as a Marketing Planner and Communicator at Bangladesh China Institute of Technology (BCIT). She completed her internship at Dutch Club Dhaka and Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) working as an Intern Researcher. She was actively involved in 2nd River and religion Conference, 4th CSD Conference, Co-Curricular Fest 2020,MUN 2019, at ULAB. She was a successful President of ULAB Shangskriti Shangshad Club,active member of ULAB Sustainable Development Club, and General Secretary of Barisal Debating Society (BDS). She worked as a Communicator at Dhaka LIT Fest from 2016-2019. She was involved in several voluntary works with Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and UNDP projects. Rafia is a gold medalist of Duke of Edinburg, UK for achieving tremendous experience in five criteria of work including Volunteering, Adventure Tour and Residential project with a local community for their betterment of life.
In future she wishes to pursue higher education in HRM and SDG so that she can work for the women, children, minorities and deprived people.
Jennifer Das is a Research Assistant at Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). She completed her Undergraduate Program at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) under the Department of English and Humanities (DEH). She took Sustainable Development as her Minor Studies under the Department of General Education (GED). She completed her Internship Program at Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) in the summer 2020. During her Internship Program, Jennifer made some valuable contributions on projects for Manusher Jonno Foundation and Heidelberg University.
Jennifer is the former General Secretary of the Sustainable Development Club (SDC) . From a member to the GS of the ULAB Sustainable Development Club, Jennifer had been passionate about her work which is related to Sustainable Development Goals. In future she wishes to work for SDGs and with her little contributions she wants to bring a real impact in society.
Syed Tauheed Raihan is a Research Assistant of the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) of ULAB. He has completed his undergraduate at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) under the Department of English and Humanities. He minored in sustainable development under the General Education programme (GED). Currently he is working with Heidelberg University in producing policy papers on the Internal Migrants of Climate Change and their Healthcare. Raihan brings skilled data analysis and graphical mapping for the projects he is working in.
Raihan also worked as a Teaching Assistant of the Department of English and Humanities (DEH) at ULAB and completed his internship at Bangladesh Petrochemical Company Limited working as an Intern Researcher. His main involvement prior to this was in the teaching field where he worked as an English Language Instructor for the Workplace Skill Development Academy (WSDA) – New Zealand, and earlier as a Mathematics Teacher at Maple Leaf International School.
Raihan is pursuing higher education in Geospatial Mapping and Data analysis.
Tamanna Afrose
Tamanna Afrose is a Research Assistant at Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). She is currently doing her undergraduate at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) under the Department of school of business. Her concentration area in Study is Marketing and she completed her minor in Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ). She has also completed Sustainable Development studies under the department of General Education (GED). Currently she is doing an online postgraduate course on ‘The Health Effect of Climate Change’ at Harvard University. It is a global community of millions of learners, founded by Harvard and MIT, edX.
Tamanna also worked as a Teaching Assistant for her Department, School of Business (USB) at ULAB. She was actively involved in the management team of 2nd River and religion Conference at ULAB. She worked as a communication assistant at various events at ULAB as convocation 2016 & 2019. She was involved in several research works with CSD. Tamanna is a gold medalist of Duke of Edinburg, UK for achieving tremendous experience in five criteria of work including Volunteering, Adventure Tour and Residential project with a local community for their betterment of life. She has also achieved international award, Silver and Bronze standard from Duke of Edinburg.
Apart from these she is also a Mountaineer, she claimed the Highest peak of west Bengal (India / Nepal) Sandhakphu (3636 m) and also many other peaks in Bangladesh. Tamanna is a young soul who is passionate about research and academic career.
Afsana Alam Preeti
Afsana Alam Preeti is an enthusiastic youth, keen to bring a positive change in the society. She really enjoys her work as a Research Assistant in CSD at the early stage of her career. Her focus is to work on sustainable development goals.
Jannatun Naher is studying in Disaster Management at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU). Beside waste management her area of interest is how to recycle and reuse waste in usable materials. She is passing through her final semester and has recently completed her internship at the Center for Sustainable Development, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).
Mahdia Mehnaz Twinkle is a student of ULAB School of Business (USB) at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. Her major area of studies is Marketing. She is currently working as a Communications Assistant at Center for Sustainable Development. She has also worked as a teaching assistant with ULAB Co-curricular. Her job was related with English content writing, event management and developing club activities.
Nusrat Jahan is an Undergraduate student of Department of English and Humanities (DEH) at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. She is an editor of the magazine, MUSE (Mouthpiece of ULAB students of English). She is also working as a Peer Mentor at Student Affairs Office (SAO). Apart from that, she is working as a Peer Tutor in ULAB’s English Zone and Writing Lab. Nusrat is currently working as a research assistant at Center for Sustainable Development (CSD), ULAB.
Azmira Aziz is a graduate in Economics from BRAC University. Being passionate about teaching, she has previously served in the education sector as an educator for a while. Currently, she is working as a Research Assistant at the Center for sustainable Development (CSD), ULAB, as she thinks CSD is one the finest platforms to begin her career in the Development Sector. In addition, she is also acting as the Program Coordinator of Mind Mechanics, a capacity building platform on Soft Skills for the youth coming from different socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. As well pursuing her MBA in University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.
Piu Chowdhury
Piu Chowdhury is a student of the Department of English and Humanities (DEH) at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. She is an editor of the magazine, MUSE (Mouthpiece of ULAB students of English). She is also working as a Peer Tutor in ULAB’s English Zone and Writing Lab. Piu is currently the Vice-President of “Paper Canoe-ULAB Literary Society”. Apart from this, she was also a research assistant for a translation of a book named Oedipus Jokhon Colonus E (Oedipus at Colonus). Piu is currently working as a research assistant at Center for Sustainable Development,ULAB.
Mazharul Islam Munna
Mazharul Islam Munna earned an undergraduate degree in Public Relations from Media Studies and Journalism department at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He is also doing a Masters in communication at ULAB. Mr. Munna is currently working as a research assistant at Center for Sustainable Development, ULAB. He is a growing up entrepreneur and is running his own business as well. In the past, he has worked on several research and campaign projects such as Climate Change Induced Migration in Bangladesh , Reputation analysis on Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMA), Promoting Duke of Edinburgh International Award at ULAB , and PR research on BGMEA regarding Rana Plaza and Tazrin fire incidents.
Ayesha Khanom is an undergraduate student of Media Studies & Journalism (MSJ) Department at ULAB. Her major area of study is Public Relations. She is currently working as an Intern at Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). She has also worked as a communication assistant with CSD at “International Conference on Sustainable Development 2016”. Before joining in CSD she has worked as a teaching assistant in MSJ department, summer semester 2015. Apart from these she was involved in several research works such as she has worked as a research assistant in a research of “Socio-demographic profile of the Female Garment Workers of Bangladesh”.
Farzana Shabnam
I am Farzana Shabnam, studying in Media Studies And Journalism Department at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). My student ID is 111012022. My major subject is Mass Communication. My study session is 2011-2014. Now I’m in final semester. And I’m doing my internship at Center for Sustainable Development department at (ULAB).
Abdullah Al Nakib
Abdullah Al Nakib obtained his graduation and currently studding masters from department of Sociology at University of Dhaka. He is currently working as an intern at Center for Sustainable Development, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh since May 2014. Apart from this he is also working Activista Bangladesh, a volunteer organization. He was part of several research work like Rapid Need Assessment (RNA) survey by National Alliance for Risk Reduction and Initiatives (NARRI) to identify the situation and need of the people who have been injured in Savar building (Rana Plaza) collapse on 24 April, 2013, Vulnerability of the children and families of the garments workers deceased in Savar building collapse by Actionaid Bangladesh and also worked on a survey on Gender based Violence by Women Rights and Gender Equality unit of Actionaid Bangladesh.
Tanuja Ayub Tanni
Tanuja Ayub Tanni earned her graduation and currently continuing her masters in departmentof Sociology at University of Dhaka. She is currently working as an intern at Center for Sustainable Development, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh since May 2014.
Ummay Marzan Jui
Ummay Marzan Jui is working as a Research Assistant at the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). She is a student of Master of Arts in Literature and Cultural Studies at ULAB. Additionally, she is working as a Staff Feature Writer at daily The Business Standard (TBS) and doing freelance feature writer for The Third Pole (TTP) and Earth Journalism and Network (EJN). She has recently won Unicef Meena Media Awards for her report on how climate change is undermining education in the coastal areas of Bangladesh.
Jui takes a keen interest in SDG-related issues, especially SD Goal 14. Currently, for TTP, she is working on a report on how sawfish’s extinction is putting our biodiversity at stake and how fishermens’ understanding of this issue can change the whole game. As part of her interest in SDG, some of her mentionable works include feature reports on climate change, environment, child education, and gender-based violence as well as translation and transcriptions of different project works. During her undergraduate years, she also worked with the EMK Center as a consultant on a project.
Shahriyer Hossain Shetu
Shahriyer Hossain Shetu is a Research Assistant at the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). Concurrently, he holds the position of English Speaking and Listening Instructor at the Center for Language Studies (CLS) since 2020. Having earned his Bachelor's Degree with a Major in English and Humanities and a Minor in Sustainable Development, he has also received the prestigious student scholarship awards, namely 'Dean's Honors List 2019' and ‘Named Scholarship 2021’ during his undergraduate tenure. Shahriyer is a writer, researcher, and an instructor. His writing mostly focuses on fiction, non-fiction, translation, opinions, satire, poetry, and prose, with numerous publications featured on both national and international platforms. While his earlier research focused on areas such as Feminism and Postmodernism, Shahriyer's current research interests lie in the domains of Climate and Sustainable-based research.
Isra Tahiya Islam
Isra Tahiya Islam is a Teaching Assistant at the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree at ULAB, with a Major in English and Humanities, and a Minor in Sustainable Development Studies. Alongside her studies, she holds a role as an English Speaking and Listening Instructor at the Center for Language Studies (CLS). Isra is also a Campus Ambassador for Teach for Bangladesh (TFB), advocating for inclusive and high-quality education for all. Beyond her academic focus within her major on language politics and psychoanalysis, her research interests also include climate change and the development of green skills.
